Robots will be something everyone will have in future

The Roomba is typical of commercial robotics in the early 21st century: There is no white-faced Data from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" who would desperately like to learn to whistle. Don't expect chatty C-3POs, intrepid R2-D2s, or killer Terminators. Instead, robots are humble devices that do menial labor, and they're on the verge of becoming household fixtures.

"You're not going to just have a robot in the home that does everything, but you're going to see many forms of robots, just as you don't have a single appliance in your home that washes your dishes, washes your clothes, and cooks your food," Tandy Trower, general manager of Microsoft's robotics group, told an audience at the RoboBusiness conference in Boston in April. "I think you're going to see a variety of robots that are designed for very specialty functions."

Come to think of it, it is really worth one. It's quite affordable if you check at their site. As compared to a maid. And it works 24 hours.

Well that's cool! I never knew robots would be built in this time period.

Actually , robots existed , quite some time ago, but we watch too much movies and have too high an expectation of a robot.

Some examples are those robots that will be sent to deal with explosive packages. Other's would be unmanned Air crafts that monitor the air space.

Or even simpler ones that we don't think too much..

I cannot imagine our world becoming like I-robot movie , where the computers actually take over the world.

Come to think of it, we are already very fortunate compared to the past. Where we don't have to write letters and catch a pigeon and set it flying.. LOL..

Everything is so fast. And no need to buy expensive encyclopedias

We don't even need to set foot on the library. Our fingers do the searching.

Be able to make.. Is too much to ask for.
Be able to cook from a selection of menu which can be updated online is good enough.

Thats not really a guard robot if it isnt armed

If it is armed, I think it's going to be a disaster if terrorists, or robbers used it to rob banks.

It is only meant for moving around and taping the intruder so that every thing that is done will be captured and you can call the cops while he is still at it.

The day will arrive, maybe... Transformers.. LOL....
